Giant Lobster!

Did you know lobsters get this big! The claws are nearly a foot long. It was caught off the coast of Cape Cod, Mass. Researchers say the claws are so big they could break a man’s arm. It’s roughly the size of a three year old human!

Believe it or not, this is not even close to the record. A 27 pound lobster was caught off the coast of Maine earlier this year. I just wonder about the poor sap who’s wife orders this lobster on a date night. Get that woman a bathtub of drawn butter!

A Silver Lining

If you’re looking for a great little restaurant with a perfect inspection you may want to check out The Silver Lining Cafe. It’s located in downtown Saint Cloud on New York Avenue. The owners are a husband and wife who have owned the place for 13 years.

I had the Caprese salad and it was tasty! The owner tells me she goes to at least 3 markets every day and changes the menu based on the fresh ingredients she finds. By the way, they only take cash.

This Is No Bologna!

Bologna is not a meat many people reach for at the deli counter after the age of 12. But, in an odd twist of economic fate soft shell lobster is now cheaper the meat mixture known as Bologna! In some areas, people are paying $3.79 per pound for soft shell lobster.

It turns out, Canadians have found a bigger supply of lobster this year. The folks in Maine have not been able to sell the crustacean as easily. You know how supply and demand works. But, don’t get too excited. I’m guessing restaurants won’t be lowering the price on the menu. Oddly enough, if you set a plate of lobster and a plate of Bologna in front of my two kids, they would both choose bologna.

My take: Give me some drawn butter and a bib baby! Let’s get some lobster!
